Winter Hiking & Walks
Beautiful trails start right outside the Hollerhöfe. Whether it’s a short stroll to the Waldeck castle ruins or a longer winter hike through the Steinwald Nature Park – the crunch of snow beneath your boots, the view over snow-covered fields, and the sense of being part of this winter stillness accompany you every step of the way. Especially worthwhile: a hike to the Oberpfalz Tower or through the “Land of 1,000 Ponds,” which holds its own quiet magic in winter.
Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing
If you enjoy gliding through snowy landscapes, the Upper Palatinate Forest offers well-groomed cross-country trails – for example around Flossenbürg, Bärnau, or Mitterteich.
