2. Discover Waldeck: The longer circular route via the old school path, the castle ruins and the Schlossberg

Start right from the front door of the Hollerhöfe: This trail is a more extensive form of the first tour tip and, like the first tour, leads to the castle ruins and the Schlossberg. Before that, however, you take the old Schulsteig trail, a beautiful path over roots, through grass and woods.

3. Round from Waldeck via the Kuschberg and Hahneneggaten

Via the usual route past the castle ruins and over the Schlossberg, you hike over the Kuschberg and make a long loop via Atzmannsberg and Schweißenreuth. At Hahneneggaten, a small, shady park with a view of the castle ruins invites you to take a short break.

4. The challenging tour

This challenging hike actually starts in Kemnath, but can also be started from Waldeck. This difficult tour requires a good level of fitness and surefootedness, making it particularly suitable for experienced hikers. This day tour takes you over the Anzenstein with its beautiful views, past the legendary pilgrimage church on the Armesberg (a former volcano), over the ruins of the Zisslerhaus and back to Waldeck with its castle ruins and Schlossberg.
