Even the working hours during your workation at the Hollerhöfe come to an end at some point. However, long-stay guests know that a stay with us also has many attractions at the weekend. Numerous leisure activities await you around the Hollerhöfe and Bayreuth.
Go on hikes and relax in the nature parks of the land of dormant volcanoes, discover the beautiful castles of the Wagner city of Bayreuth or go on a bike tour. Hotel guests are welcome to hire a bike during their stay with us at the Hollerhöfe (as we hire the bikes externally, please book in advance).
For all cycling pros: It's definitely worth bringing your racing bike with you!
Goldsteig
The Goldsteig stretches for around 600 km between the 946 m high Platte in the Steinwald and the 1,379 m high Plöckenstein in the border triangle of Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria. This ridge route leads through the largest contiguous forest mountain range in Central Europe, past the thousand-meter peaks of the Bavarian Forest and through the Bavarian Forest National Park. You can enjoy breathtaking views on marked hiking trails and a well-signposted hiking guidance system.
The Marterlweg in Waldeck
The Marterlweg in Waldeck leads through a natural landscape and offers hikers moving impulses along symbols of faith and life. The trail begins at the old cemetery in Waldeck in the Steinwald Nature Park and leads to the top of Waldeck Castle Hill. There are 15 inspirational stations along the way with the aim of touching and inspiring. The majority of the route runs across fields and meadows, with only a short section leading uphill along a forest path.
Cycle tour through the volcanoes
A cycle tour through the volcanic landscape offers a view of the Kemnath pond pan, the Gabellohe nature reserve and the Steinwald nature park. The route along the Haidenaab and to the volcanic cones is challenging, but the view from Waldbeck Castle Hill is guaranteed to make you forget the effort.
Spa trip to Marienbad, Karlsbad, Franzensbad
The Czech Republic is known for its healing mineral springs and is home to the three famous spas in the West Bohemian Spa Triangle. Karlovy Vary is the largest and best-known spa with 79 springs used for spa treatments. Mariánské Lázně has a total of 140 springs, 40 of which are in the town itself and another 100 in the surrounding area. Franzensbad is the smallest of the West Bohemian spas with 22 active springs.
